Does Anyone Know This Swedish Lutheran Hero?

You can watch the video here! (with subtitles for Anglophone goodness).

  1. Pay your broadcast fee to some unknown bureaucrat. He is the hero, I take it. Andy Warhol must be proud. It's now fifteen seconds in internet time.

  2. I think the hero is just supposed to be a generic Swedish citizen who pays his broadcast fees, thereby making it possible for the voice of the people to be heard, etc.

  3. Its an interactive video the hero can be who ever you want it to be.

  4. It's a clever little spot that allows you to upload a picture of anyone - who represents the "anyman" hero - for paying his TV tax.

I'm not a welfarer-stater, and so I'm not a fan of taxes in general. But the concept is very cool.

My Swedish hero (whom I uploaded) is Rev. Eric Andrae, a Swedish-born LCMS pastor who is a wonderful ambassador of Sweden's Lutheran heritage and of the current remnant of faithful Swedish Lutherans (especially in the Missionary Province that is currently on the outs with the official Church of Sweden for having the gall to actually believe the Bible...).

Eric and his father Hans (now an LCMS pastor emeritus) are active in translating Swedish theological works into English - especially those written by Bishop Bo Giertz.

Eric is a good friend (as is Hans), and I thought he would especially appreciate the tribute.
