  1. Far "cooler" than when I (and my Lutheran Youth group buddies) slept one night on an island in the Boundary Waters with half our sleeping bags in the US (our heads) and half in Canada (our feet). :)

  2. "The Final Countdown" is the ringtone for the timer on my phone. I don't think metal bands should have ever been let near synthesizers. Welcome home!

  3. Dear Terry:

The one in Yekaterinburg (Church of All Saints), yes. The one in St. Petersburg - no. I didn't get to go to St. Petersburg (I flew through Moscow with only a very short layover there).

In fact, I was in Yekaterinburg on the anniversary of the slaying of the Romanovs. They had several special events that week - including some musical performances in the cultural center next to the church.

I'm going to try to post some pictures this week. I have a lot of them to cull through!

  4. That's the one I meant, Yekaterinburg. What a time to be there! "A Different St Nicholas" joined the Past Elder blogoral calendar a year or two ago for 17 July.

With a plug for St Gertrude's.
