Check out this 47-year old "frumpy church lady" stunning Simon Cowell (plus two other judges and a studio of skeptics) on a British talent program. Good stuff. Read more here. Everyone loves an underdog. Go Susan!
A couple of years ago Britain's Got Talent produced another surprise...Paul Potts, an opera singing cell phone salesman. I am not a fan of the operatic style but he had me. I even bought the CD he produced as a result of winning the competition.
I love that video! I saved it under favorites a couple of days ago and made my husband watch it. He was amazed! I just keep laughing at Simon's face. He doesn't get shocked too easily.
While serving in a previous ministerial call, I had to moonlight at the local Hollywood Video to pay for health insurance for the family. It took one of my coworkers a couple weeks before she stopped addressing me as "Father" and started using my first name.
It was a fun job. My co-workers were the best. I got free rentals too. You can click here to see a picture. Now you know the rest of the story...

WOW! JUST WOW!
This is why we keep coming back to Fr. Hollywood: secession and weird underdog stories from Britain. . .
