More evidence of our culture's hatred of motherhood, family, marriage, children, and (especially) the holy and honorable vocation of wife.
This was written by a 19-year old Christian girl. Notice that even setting one's sights on becoming a nurse is considered menial and demeaning! Can you just imagine a world where all children become doctors and lawyers? Scary!
This young lady's anecdote calls to mind a similar story from our Traditionalist Roman Catholic friends who live on a Texas farm. One of their very bright, educated, cultured daughters - who was a pre-teen at the time - was asked by someone about what she wanted to do when she grew up. Her reply was something to the effect of "get married, have children, and raise horses." The interrogator was taken aback and asked: "Don't you want to be a doctor or lawyer?" The girl's answer was brilliant and reflected the family's confident counterculturalism: "No, that's what YOU want me to be."
