I won again!
I cannot believe my good fortune! Once again, I have hit the jackpot. This time, I won £750.000.00 courtesy of Toyota Online Program. They want me to reply with my "Name,Address,Sex/Tel,Country."
In good conscience, I have won so many of these in the past that I just wouldn't feel right taking this money. There must be so many others out there who have not had the thrill of winning hundreds of thousands, or even millions of pounds, euros, and dollars as I have. So I would like to offer my winnings to anyone who would like to have them.
In fact, the U.S. Government is broke, so maybe I should send them President Obama's address and phone number so he can use it to pay down the deficit and cut taxes.
Maybe some FH readers have some ideas as to who should receive this money.
BTW, the e-mail came from Mrs. Rose Wood at hinsonerickay@frontiernet.net, and any reply sent to this e-mail goes to a different address, namely toyota.uk1@9.cn.
How thoughtful of Mrs. Wood!

Are you sure the frontiernet.net isn't a forgery of an innocent party's email address? I once had to abandon an email address because a scammer was forging it.
Dear Kaleb:
It probably is. I'm not replying to either address. It's like voting. It only encourages them. ;-)

I have been following your blog since I first discovered your articles at LRC. I have a twofold interest/amiability with you. First that I am a proponent of the Austrian School. Second, that I am a born and raised LCMS. In fact, my father is class of '58 (St. Louis). You can figure from that, that his ordination was 50+ years ago.
I could go in many directions with you, but allow me to tease your intellect, both within the context of the usus theologicus, as equally as the usus politicus. Let me begin with an entry from the FAQ section of the LCMS website:
The Antichrist and the Papacy
This is the "point of origin" for my own study since at least the day after 9/11. Since that time, I have been introduced and studied thoroughly Eric John Phelps, and F. Tupper Saussy. The most fascinating aspect of these two scholars (and they both certainly deserve that designation), is when one (Dispensationalist) accuses the other (full Preterist) of being a "Jesuit coadjutor." The student understanding that both appear to be "victims" of Ribera/Bellarmine/Lacunza and Alcazar respectively.
Anyway, jumping into the very present. I have been familiar with Fr. Malachi Martin for some years. I have not read all his books, but am sufficiently familiar enough with his material, and general thought process.
I need to ask you, if you are at all familiar with Tom Horn? He has his own website, and is also syndicated at NewsWithViews.com. He is currently working on a book, entitled Apollyon Rising 2012: The Lost Symbol Found and the Final Mystery of the Great Seal Revealed. You can follow his work at his current blog.
What peaks my interest of late, especially in light of the LCMS FAQ entry on the Papacy and Antichrist, is this very recent excerpt from Horn, that is (for now) apart from his regular entries on his blog...
"Prophecy of the Popes" by St. Malachy
You being an LCMS pastor, and having your own blog to comment on political and theological matters, especially having the keen eye for the Wiccan promo in the Scooby Doo excerpt, I would really appreciate your input here...
Dear Fooser:
I've seen the St. Malachy writing before, and it is rather intriguing. But I also find its language to be sufficiently vague (kind of like reading the quatrains of Nostradamus) so as to be able to be bent into anything after the fact.
Since, according to the Malachy prophecy, we're getting to the end of his predictions, it will soon become apparent if it's true or not. :-)
I lean toward it being not.
I was raised in a non-Lutheran church that was obsessed with Jack Van Impe and Hal Lindsey's Late Great Planet Earth, with the Thief in the Night movie and Jack Chick's antichrist tracts. Nearly all of their interpretations of end times prophecy have proven woefully wrong - though most of these guys are still selling books and getting airtime on TV.
I just don't put any stock into this 2012 business. We've been down this road before as various experts and prophets on the American religious scene have repeatedly failed at picking dates (1847, 1917, 1948, 1981...). Our Lord Himself warned us of false prophets and of people who claim to know the dates for the end of the world. It just hasn't been revealed to us.
So, I guess I'm terribly skeptical.
I do think there is a "NWO" agenda among the elites of the world - and that is hardly a secret (as they themselves have made known) and I do believe most of the leaders of the world come from a background that would like nothing more than a severely centralized world government I believe the John Birch Society is spot on in all of that. The Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers, and the CFR - though secretive in their meetings, are pretty open about their desire for a NWO that de-emphasizes national borders and state sovereignty.
So, how the NWO politicians play into the end of the world, maybe they will, maybe they won't. I suspect they will somehow. Jesus will come back, and there will be an end. But I think the 2012 thing is just too convenient, and it will be forgotten in 2013 - though there is plenty of time to sell books between now and then. But then again, I may well be wrong. I don't claim to have the answers.
Meanwhile, let us all pray fervently: "Come Lord Jesus!"
Thanks for writing and taking the time to share this with me. I really greatly appreciate your insights and your kind words. PS: I'm also a fan of Malachi Martin. He was not only a brilliant writer, but quite a provocative mind.
